Rapallo City Council rejects Nobel Peace Prize motion

The Rapallo City Council has rejected a motion proposed by opposition councilor Francesco Angiolani. The motion supported an appeal to award the Nobel Peace Prize to children in Gaza and all underage victims of armed conflicts.

The Democratic Party (PD) expressed disappointment following the vote, criticizing Mayor Elisabetta Ricci for her remarks regarding perceived ambiguities in social media content during the session. The PD stated that the administration appeared to prioritize political affiliations over a symbolic gesture regarding the universal value of peace.
