San Bartolomeo celebrations held in Italian towns
Several Italian communities are hosting celebrations for the feast of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle.
In San Bartolomeo al Mare, festivities include the ‘Notte dei lumini’ (Night of the Lights) on August 22, featuring a blessing of the sea and a religious procession through the town streets. The schedule also includes solemn masses, a community lunch, karaoke, and various musical performances such as a tribute to Francesco De Gregori and the ‘MusicOpera Festival’ through August 25.
In Meana Sardo, the committee for Saint Bartholomew and Saints Salvatore has organized a multi-day program from August 21 to August 25. Religious observances include a triduum and a solemn mass on August 24, accompanied by a procession featuring local folk groups and traditional music. The civil program includes children's games, live shows, and various musical groups performing in the piazza.
