Raphael Gualazzi recital and Renato Guttuso exhibition spotlight Italian summer culture

Jazz‑crossover singer‑pianist Raphael Gualazzi, 44, performed a solo recital at the Pergolesi Spontini Festival in the historic courtyard of the former Appannaggio in Jesi. The programme mixed jazz, opera arias, film scores and his recent material, emphasising the artist’s ties to his native Marche region.

In the Alpine resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Farsettiarte gallery opened a retrospective of painter Renato Guttuso. The show traces the evolution of the mid‑20th‑century Italian master, highlighting works such as “Forchetta, bicchiere e tenaglia” (1946) and “La grande lavandaia” (1947), and underscoring his anti‑fascist, socially engaged outlook.

Both events form part of Italy’s summer cultural programme, bringing historic and contemporary artistic expressions to regional audiences.
