Raphael Onyedika Joins Eintracht Frankfurt on Five‑Year Deal

Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika has completed a permanent move to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25‑year‑old signed a contract running until 2031 after Club Brugge accepted a transfer fee of roughly €9 million, reported to be less than half his market value. Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche had pursued the player since last summer and secured the deal as Onyedika entered the final year of his Brugge contract.

Onyedika began his career at the FC Ebedei academy in Shagamu, Nigeria, before moving to Danish club FC Midtjylland and then to Club Brugge in 2022. He made 183 appearances for the Belgian champions, scoring nine goals and providing six assists, and helped the team win multiple domestic titles. After the transfer he posted an emotional farewell on Instagram, thanking the Brugge fans and recalling Champions League nights. In a press conference he expressed strong motivation to contribute to Eintracht, citing the club’s recent Europa League triumph and his desire to develop further.
