Raphinha to sign Barcelona contract extension through 2030

FC Barcelona captain Raphinha is set to sign a contract extension through 2030 following a prolific start to the 2026/27 season. Sporting director Deco confirmed the agreement, noting that the deal is well underway. The 29-year-old Brazilian has undergone a successful tactical transition from a wide attacker to a central 'false 9' under manager Hansi Flick, scoring 14 goals in his first eight matches across all competitions.

Raphinha’s scoring rate has surpassed historical benchmarks, including early-season records previously held by Lionel Messi. His performance has placed him among the top Brazilian scorers in the club's history, nearing the totals of legends like Ronaldinho.

In addition to Raphinha, Barcelona is also working to secure the long-term futures of academy graduates Marc Bernal and Xavi Espart, both of whom are expected to sign new deals. The club's strategy under Deco has shifted toward retaining core talent following the summer transfer window.
