Rapid Bucharest coach Daniel Pancu addresses player controversy and team performance

Rapid Bucharest coach Daniel Pancu has addressed recent tensions involving 17-year-old player Andrei Șucu. Following public criticism regarding the player's performance, Pancu clarified that there is no ongoing conflict with the player's family, noting he has spoken with both Andrei and owner Dan Șucu. Pancu expressed regret for not being more sensitive to the player's age, stating, “My only mistake was that I did not consider him a child.”

On the pitch, Pancu criticized his team's mental performance following a 1-1 draw against Farul Constanța. He noted that despite leading at halftime, the team struggled in the second half, describing the collapse as a recurring issue related to mentality and past patterns. He emphasized that the team's objective remains reaching the play-offs rather than chasing a championship.

Separately, in Romanian football news, FCSB coach Laurențiu Reghecampf expressed deep disappointment following a 0-1 loss to Corvinul Hunedoara. Reghecampf criticized his players' lack of aggression and noted that Meriton Korenica has sustained a serious injury.
