Rapid București targets Ebenezer Annan to replace Andrei Borza
Rapid București is working to address a shortage at the left-back position following the departure of Andrei Borza to Turkey's Corum FK and an injury to Robert Sălceanu. The club has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the French side Saint-Étienne to acquire Ebenezer Annan on loan, which includes an option to purchase at the end of the season.
Annan, a 23-year-old Ghanaian international with seven caps, is a left-footed defender capable of playing as a left-back or in more advanced midfield roles. He previously played for Red Star Belgrade before joining Saint-Étienne in August 2025. His market value is estimated at approximately 1.8 million euros.
Rapid shareholder Victor Angelescu acknowledged that Borza's departure is a significant loss due to his offensive capabilities, expressing hope that new talent like Latif Ouedraogo or the incoming Annan can successfully fill the void.
