Umm Rawaba drone strike kills at least 13 near courthouse

A drone strike targeting a courthouse in the army-held town of Umm Rawaba, North Kordofan, has resulted in significant casualties. Reports from medical sources and eyewitnesses indicate that at least 13 people were killed and 22 others were injured during the attack.

The strike occurred while civilians and legal professionals were gathered outside the administrative building to conduct legal and administrative business. Witnesses described the drone hitting a tree directly outside the courthouse, causing immediate chaos in the crowded plaza.

Local authorities and human rights groups, including the Emergency Lawyers Committee, have attributed the attack to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The committee condemned the strike, stating that the targeting of judicial and civilian infrastructure constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and threatens the stability of judicial institutions in the region.
