Rapido driver conduct concerns rise over fare disputes and privacy

Recent incidents involving Rapido drivers have raised concerns regarding consumer experience and passenger privacy. In one instance, a passenger reported that a driver arrived late and subsequently demanded additional fees for an extra passenger. When the rider refused to pay the amount requested outside of the app's fixed fare, the driver allegedly canceled the ride, leading to a heated dispute.

In a separate incident, a female passenger shared screenshots on social media after a Rapido rider contacted her via WhatsApp following the completion of a trip. The incident sparked a debate regarding how drivers obtain passenger contact information and the appropriateness of contacting passengers privately after a service has concluded. While the rider's educational background was noted in social media discussions, the primary concern remains the protection of passenger privacy and the boundaries of service-related communication.
