Rapper Boosie Badazz faces possible prison for probation violations

Rapper Boosie Badazz, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, is accused of violating the terms of his federal supervised release following a May 2026 incident at Houston’s Dome Nightclub. Prosecutors say he assaulted a security guard with a broken hookah base, causing a head wound that required eight staples. He left the venue before police arrived, prompting a warrant. Probation officers allege he traveled to Houston and performed as a headliner without prior approval, violated a travel restriction, and tested positive for cannabinoids in a January drug test. They have asked a judge to impose an additional 18‑month prison sentence, consecutive with any term from a pending Texas aggravated‑assault case, followed by further supervised release. Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo declined to issue a bench warrant but set a hearing for July 10.

Boosie Badazz publicly denied the violations, claiming he received permission to travel and that his drug tests have been clean. He posted on social media that he had notified his probation officer about every show, completed community service, and that the allegations stem from misunderstanding and personal grievances.

The case stems from his earlier three‑year federal probation for a 2026 gun conviction, and the outcome could add up to a year and a half of incarceration if the recommended sentence is approved.
