Rapper Ikkimel makes Australian debut in Melbourne and Sydney
Berlin-based rapper Ikkimel performed her first shows in Australia over the weekend, appearing in both Melbourne and Sydney. Her performance at the University of Sydney’s Manning Bar, which holds just over 2,000 people, was part of a set featuring the Berlin music platform HÖR.
Despite language barriers, the artist drew significant crowds. Fans noted that while many in the audience do not understand her German lyrics, her message and attitude resonate locally. Supporters highlighted her feminist messaging and her use of provocative language as a form of self-empowerment, a theme reflected in her debut album.
