Rapper Majka cancels Romanian concert following death threats
Hungarian rapper Majka has cancelled his scheduled performance at the SIC Fest in Sepsiszentgyörgy, Romania, following life-threatening messages received via his private phone number. The threats, written in Hungarian and sent from a Romanian phone number, contained specific details regarding the artist's travel route, accommodation, and security company, suggesting premeditated information gathering.
Legal representative Vlad Vidic confirmed that a criminal complaint was filed with the Sepsiszentgyörgy prosecutor's office on August 6 for the crime of threat, requesting the application of an aggravating circumstance. The rapper's legal team in Hungary is also preparing complaints for actions falling under Hungarian jurisdiction.
Journalist Dávid Rácz noted that the situation transcends typical social media criticism, warning that online hatred can escalate into real-world danger. Festival organizers condemned the incident, stating that such violence and threats have no place in the Transylvanian Hungarian community.
