Rapper Ronald Cora remanded in custody for alleged murder of ex-partner

Ronald Cora, a 37-year-old rapper known as MC Triks, has been remanded in custody following charges of murdering his former partner, 27-year-old Djuarn Baker-Adams. The incident allegedly occurred at a property in Slacks Creek during the early hours of a Wednesday.

Police reported that Cora contacted emergency services after finding Baker-Adams unresponsive. Paramedics were unable to revive her. While an autopsy is expected to provide the official cause of death, preliminary investigations suggest she died of asphyxiation. Detectives noted that the deceased and the accused were both First Nations people who had previously been in a relationship.

Cora did not appear for his first mention at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday. The case has been adjourned to August 27 at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court. This incident marks the fourth death in Queensland linked to alleged domestic violence in recent weeks.
