Rapper Ski Aggu announces smartphone ban for upcoming tour

German rapper Ski Aggu, born August Jean Diederich, has announced a smartphone ban for his upcoming ‘Insider Tour’ scheduled for February and March 2027. The tour will visit ten cities across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland following the release of his new album, ‘Ski Aggu Musik’.

Describing himself as a “handy-addicted person,” the Berlin-based artist stated that the ban is intended to encourage fans to be more present and store memories in their minds rather than on digital devices. He noted that the “collective use” of phones has become overwhelming and that people are increasingly seeking phone-free environments, similar to trends seen in many nightclubs.

Rather than using strict enforcement measures like taping over cameras at the entrance, Aggu intends to implement the ban on a basis of trust, expressing confidence that his audience will respect the rule. He is not the only artist to adopt such a policy; other musicians, including Bob Dylan and Phoebe Bridgers, have also implemented similar restrictions at their shows.
