Rapper Swing Raises Mounjaro Dose, Mulls Bariatric Surgery

South Korean rapper Swing disclosed on his social media that he has increased his dosage of the obesity medication Mounjaro to 10 mg after lower doses (2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 7.5 mg) failed to produce weight loss. He posted a video of himself injecting the drug and stated, “I’m going to lose weight now.”

Swing also warned that if the medication does not work, he will consider undergoing bariatric (sleeve gastrectomy) surgery. Mounjaro belongs to a class of GLP‑1/GIP agonists that mimic hormones regulating appetite and insulin, typically yielding 14‑21% body‑weight reductions over 72 weeks, though a minority of patients are non‑responders. The rapper’s public discussion highlights both the popularity of such drugs and the possibility of surgical alternatives for severe obesity.
