Rapper Veigh supports Lula, citing Bolsa Família history
Brazilian rapper Veigh has reaffirmed his support for Lula in the presidential elections, citing his personal history with social welfare programs. He stated that for many years, his mother relied on the Bolsa Família program to provide food for him and his sister.
Veigh noted that his political stance is shaped by growing up in economic hardship, an experience he believes is shared by millions of Brazilians across the country. He also criticized the concept of meritocracy in Brazil, arguing that it often serves to “moralize inequality” by treating class privilege as individual virtue.
The artist expressed his desire for a future where children from the periphery have access to quality education, health, security, and food, regardless of their race, gender, or address.
