North Carolina rapper Rapsody has released her new album, ‘God Gotta Afro & Gold Hoops’, a project influenced by her travels to Ghana. The album features a collaboration with Malice on the track ‘Black Love’, a feature facilitated by the Roc Nation A&R team. Rapsody also discussed the personal nature of tracks such as ‘Pick a Side’ and ‘Abandon Me’, as well as the musical influences of D’Angelo on ‘Apple Juice’.

Addressing the hip-hop industry, Rapsody stated that ‘numbers don’t define success’ and advocated for women like Lauryn Hill to be included in the ‘greatest of all time’ discussions. She also reflected on her signing to Roc Nation and expressed her support for Jay-Z.
