Rapsody releases new album God Gotta Afro & Gold Hoops

Rapsody, the North Carolina-born artist also known as Marlanna Evans, has released her latest body of work, ‘God Gotta Afro & Gold Hoops’. Produced under the guidance of Denaun, also known as Mr. Porter, the album explores themes of Blackness as a celebratory and divine act, emphasizing the beauty within Black music and culture.

The project follows her previous album, ‘Please Don’t Cry’, which featured her Grammy Award-winning track ‘3:AM’ with Erykah Badu. While her earlier work saw her moving away from the production of mentor 9th Wonder, this new release continues her evolution of exploring diverse sides of hip-hop culture through soulful vocals, poems, and self-affirming chants.
