Raqqa Transport Directorate resumes operations after 14 years
The Raqqa Transport Directorate has officially resumed operations from its headquarters in Raqqa following a 14-year hiatus. The reopening follows the completion of extensive rehabilitation, restoration, and technical preparation work.
The directorate aims to provide essential vehicle-related services to citizens locally, eliminating the need for residents to travel long distances, which saves time and reduces costs. Available services include vehicle registration and renewal for all types, mortgage placement and removal, legal claim notations, vehicle transfers, and specialized computer-based sorting for European imports. Officials expect to process approximately 150 transactions daily.
The facility has also been equipped with dedicated spaces for related entities, including the traffic department, social insurance, and mandatory insurance branches. Future plans include the construction of a two-story building adjacent to the current temporary headquarters to further expand and develop services.
