Raquel Brício runs for Vice President of Brazil with Unidade Popular

Raquel Nonato de Brício, a 34-year-old security guard and law student at the Federal University of Pará, has registered her candidacy for Vice President of Brazil. Running under the Unidade Popular (UP) party, she is part of a ticket headed by presidential candidate Samara Martins.

The UP ticket, registered under number 80, focuses its platform on reducing inequality and expanding workers' rights. According to a Quaest poll released on August 14, the Martins and Brício ticket holds 1% of the intended votes.

Brício’s political history includes unsuccessful bids for the Belém City Council in 2020, the State Assembly of Pará in 2022, and the mayoralty of Belém in 2024. In her registration with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), she declared no assets and has no criminal record. The first round of elections is scheduled for October 5, with the second round on October 26.
