Raquel Lee Bolleau sues Disney over alleged sexual abuse at age 14
Former child actress Raquel Lee Bolleau has filed a civil negligence lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company, alleging she was repeatedly sexually assaulted and harassed by a Disney employee in 2001. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claims the abuse occurred while she was 14 years old during the filming of the Disney Channel movie 'The Poof Point'.
Bolleau alleges that an unnamed, middle-aged male employee supplied her with alcohol and assaulted her in a hotel room in Salt Lake City, Utah, and again on a flight back to California. The complaint asserts that the sexual harassment and misconduct were 'in plain view' of the cast and crew, including explicit comments made on set, yet Disney failed to intervene or protect her.
Furthermore, the suit claims that Disney executives ignored signs of the abuse and instead blamed Bolleau for her deteriorating performance, describing her as 'out of control' and subsequently canceling another acting role. Bolleau is seeking damages for economic losses, emotional distress, and punitive damages.
