Raquel Rodriguez discusses managing Mast Cell Activation Syndrome
WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez has shared details regarding her ongoing battle with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. During an appearance on the Busted Open Radio podcast, Rodriguez explained that the immune and histamine system disorder continues to cause flare-ups, despite her return to active competition.
Rodriguez uses visible skin rashes as an early warning system to monitor her health. When symptoms appear, she responds by increasing rest, improving nutrition, and avoiding alcohol, particularly while traveling. She noted that stress, lack of sleep, and inconsistent eating habits are primary triggers for her condition.
To maintain her performance levels, Rodriguez has been actively seeking additional live event matches to gain experience. Her training regimen includes working with Dan Davis in Louisiana and visiting Natalya’s Dungeon when her schedule allows. She also studies international wrestling styles and classic match footage to prepare for diverse opponents.
