Rare 1999 Pokémon card collection sold in Denmark

A newly opened shop in Nibe, Denmark, called Popkort, successfully sold a rare collection of 64 sealed Pokémon cards. The collection, which dates back to 1999, was discovered in an estate sale and brought to the shop by a customer.

The cards were originally distributed in Denmark alongside the film's release on VHS or DVD. Because the shop owners, Jonas Svendsen and his partner, lacked the immediate capital to purchase the find, they arranged to buy them two weeks later using their personal savings.

Rather than using an auction, the owners opted to package the 64 cards into individual black boxes and priced them at 600 DKK each. The sale resulted in the items selling out in under 10 minutes.
