Rare Earths Americas reports improved mineral recovery at Alpha Project

Rare Earths Americas has announced a 48% relative improvement in rare earth element leach recovery during laboratory tests at its Alpha Project in Bahia, Brazil. The tests, conducted by SGS, achieved a recovery rate of approximately 40% for rare earth elements excluding cerium, compared to a previous assumption of 27% in the company’s Technical Report Summary.

The company noted that while the results represent a significant increase in the amount of material brought into solution, the test conditions differ from previous assumptions and must be confirmed through larger-scale testing. This improvement could potentially increase the amount of recoverable material from the same volume of mined clay, enhancing the project's economic viability.

The Alpha Project contains estimated inferred mineral resources of 202 million tonnes, with elements such as neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium used in electric vehicles, industrial equipment, and defense technologies. The company’s Initial Assessment of the project is over 80% complete and is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2027.
