Rare Swed-Trac ST 1674 tractor goes to auction

A rare Swed-Trac ST 1674 tractor is being offered for auction via the Swedish online marketplace Klaravik. Founded by the Pihlgren brothers in Arvika, Sweden, the Swed-Trac brand produced only about 60 units before going bankrupt in 1987.

The specific machine being auctioned features a black and gold livery and has been owned by a single individual since 1994. It has recorded just over 2,188 operating hours and is powered by a 6-cylinder Scania engine delivering approximately 167 to 170 hp.

While built in Sweden to compete with brands like Volvo BM, the tractor incorporates significant Polish components, including a cab and axles from the Warsaw-founded manufacturer Ursus. The owner has described the well-preserved machine as a “tractor unicorn” due to its rarity and original condition.
