A rare 2015 UK £2 coin featuring Queen Elizabeth II and the ‘Standing on the Shoulders of Giants’ design has sold for £134.08, more than 67 times its original face value. The high price was driven by a bidding war involving 19 bids.

The coin possesses a specific minting defect known as the ‘fried egg error.’ This occurs in bi-metallic coins when the silver-coloured inner disc spreads outward from the center, creating a visual effect similar to a runny egg yolk.
