Rari Nantes Imperia faces uncertainty amid pool redevelopment

Parents of athletes from the historic sports club Rari Nantes Imperia ’57 have issued an open appeal to the citizens and local economy of Imperia to support the club’s future. The club, which has been active since 1957, is facing a period of significant transition due to changes regarding the Felice Cascione swimming pool.

The city is currently implementing a project to transform the facility into a Federal High Specialization Center through an agreement between the Municipality of Imperia and the Italian Swimming Federation. While families acknowledge the potential benefits of this high-level training center for the city, they are concerned about the impact on existing local sports activities.

Specifically, concerns have been raised regarding the reported non-registration of the women’s water polo team for the Serie B championship. Despite claims that there are insufficient players, club officials and parents point to existing projects that list over a dozen senior and youth players, arguing that the team's history and presence should be preserved during the facility's reorganization.
