Kópavogur assault leads to fatality and multiple arrests

A man has died at Landspítali hospital following a serious physical assault at a private residence in Kársnes, Kópavogur.

Police reported that the victim succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon. Following the incident, several individuals were arrested during police operations in the eastern part of Reykjavík and near Gnoðarvog. One arrest was made at or near the residence in Kársnes.

Neighbors described the area as quiet, noting that a middle-aged foreign couple lived in the house, though it is currently unclear how they are connected to the incident. Authorities have stated that the investigation is a high priority, but no further details have been released at this time.
