Yemeni President Rashad al-Alimi has called for general national mobilization to support the country's armed and security forces. In a speech marking the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, Al-Alimi announced a policy of safe return and a future general amnesty for Houthi members who defect and cease fighting or working for the group.

The President emphasized the government's objective to restore state institutions and extend sovereignty over the entire national territory, including Sanaa. He also addressed the need to settle the legal and professional status of military and security personnel to preserve their rights.

Amidst rising military tensions and Houthi advances along the Red Sea coast and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, Al-Alimi urged international and regional allies, specifically the Saudi-led coalition, to support the Yemeni government. He also reaffirmed commitment to the Saudi-sponsored South-South dialogue to ensure a just solution for the Southern issue.

Separately, humanitarian concerns have intensified as aid agencies report a deepening hunger crisis. UNICEF has noted that over 25 percent of screened children in certain areas are acutely malnourished, while recent clashes in southwest Yemen have displaced approximately 130,000 people, including 71,000 children.
