Nigeria women’s football captain Rasheedat Ajibade has undergone successful surgery to repair a fractured fibula. The injury occurred during a 2028 Olympic qualifying match against Comoros at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Ajibade, a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, was stretchered off the pitch following a collision during the match. Despite her injury, the Super Falcons secured a 5-0 victory to advance in the qualifying campaign.

Following the operation, Ajibade confirmed her status via Instagram, stating, “Surgery done. Recovery mode on.” While she expressed high spirits and thanked her teammates, family, and fans for their support, no specific timetable has been released for her return to professional football.
