Rashmi Samant releases book on RSS centenary

The book ‘Hundred Years Young: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’ has been released to mark the centenary of the RSS. Authored by Rashmi Samant, the work features perspectives from 18 young contributors from diverse religious and social backgrounds, including Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Samant describes the organization as performing ‘generational work’ with a core motto of ‘man-making’. She notes that the RSS is often viewed through a ‘coloured lens’ and seeks to provide lived experiences to counter extreme perspectives.

Contributor Brinda Kotak, an entrepreneur and investor, stated that despite having no direct family or personal connection to the RSS, the organization’s ground-level work has influenced her outlook. Kotak noted the organization’s philosophy of prioritizing action over self-promotion and its vision of a future India where such an organization may no longer be necessary.
