Rashod Bateman addresses Ravens offense and legal situation

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman has addressed both his role in the team’s upcoming offense and his ongoing legal situation ahead of the Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Regarding the team's offensive direction under new coordinator Declan Doyle, Bateman described the unit as being poised to be ‘fast and explosive.’ The Ravens are looking to improve upon last season’s total offense, which ranked 16th, while navigating changes in how quarterback Lamar Jackson operates under center.

Bateman also spoke briefly regarding his June arrest, which involved three counts of family violence involving a child and the child’s mother. While he declined to provide specific details, stating, ‘It is a legal situation, so I am looking forward to playing football this Sunday,’ he indicated he is prepared to deal with any consequences. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta confirmed the team notified the league of the incident immediately and is currently awaiting the results of investigations by both the league and authorities.
