Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Sudhakar Singh seeks CBI probe of Ram Temple Trust finances
Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Sudhakar Singh has filed a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court demanding that the investigation into alleged financial irregularities of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The petition asks the court to set up a temporary oversight committee of retired judges and financial experts, to preserve all physical and digital financial records, and to bar the Trust from making major investments or contracts without court‑monitored approval. It also seeks a forensic audit of donations, bank transactions and other accounts, with the report placed before the Supreme Court.
The move follows earlier petitions that the apex court declined to list urgently, as well as a Special Investigation Team’s probe that resulted in eight arrests and a 15‑day extension to widen its scope. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has called the alleged embezzlement “highly condemnable” and urged stricter financial management at the temple.
