Rasmus Søndergaard and Red Bull reported over minor-targeted advertising
The Danish consumer organization Forbrugerrådet Tænk has filed a formal complaint with the Consumer Ombudsman against content creator Rasmus Søndergaard and Red Bull. The organization alleges that Søndergaard’s social media content violates marketing laws by promoting unsuitable products to minors.
The complaint specifically targets the marketing of energy drinks and alcohol. Winni Grosbøll, director of Forbrugerrådet Tænk, described the collaboration as “the largest violation of the marketing law” they have observed, expressing concern that such content could increase energy drink consumption among children and adolescents.
Søndergaard and his agency, DayZero, have denied the allegations. In a press release, Søndergaard stated he disagrees with the complaint, arguing that his content is not directed at viewers under the age of 18, though he noted he supports the general principle of protecting younger audiences.
