Rasmussen poll shows Republicans leading among Hispanic voters
A recent Rasmussen Reports poll indicates that Republicans hold a 50% to 42% lead among Hispanic likely voters on a generic congressional ballot. This result marks a significant shift from mid-September data, which showed Democrats leading this demographic by a slim 44% to 42% margin.
The survey, conducted between September 24 and September 30 among 1,794 likely U.S. voters, shows a tightening race for control of Congress. While Democrats maintain a narrow overall lead of 47% to 44% on the generic ballot, the Republican gap has narrowed from an 18-point deficit earlier in the month to 9 points in the most recent reading.
Other demographic breakdowns in the poll show Republicans receiving 48% support among white likely voters and 16% among Black voters, while Democrats received 44% among whites and 70% among Black voters. The Hispanic results contrast with other national polls conducted during the same period that have suggested different political directions for this voting bloc.
