Rat steals Rs 10 lakh of jewellery from Karnataka shop, hides in burrow
In Tumakuru, Karnataka, the Vishwas Jewellery shop reported that gold and diamond ornaments worth about Rs 10 lakh vanished overnight despite the shop’s shutters being intact and no signs of forced entry.
CCTV footage later revealed that a rat had entered the store, dragged the pieces one by one onto a wall and into a small hole. Employees traced the animal’s path to its burrow, dug it up and recovered ten rings and three necklaces that the rodent had hidden inside.
The bizarre incident was shared widely on social media, drawing amusement and bewilderment for the unlikely "heist" captured on video.
