Ratatan rhythm roguelike announced for Nintendo Switch 2
Ratatan, a new rhythm-based roguelike action game, has been revealed for the Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Ratata Arts and TVTy, the title features involvement from Hiroyuki Kotani, the creator of Patapon, and composer Kemmei Adachi.
The gameplay combines side-scrolling action with rhythm mechanics, where players use musical sequences to command creatures known as Cobuns. Unlike its predecessor Patapon, Ratatan allows the main character to move freely, jump, and reposition on the battlefield, requiring players to manage both their own placement and the rhythm of their troops.
The game features 2D animation and supports online co-op for up to four players. Set on the island of Rataport, the story follows Ratatans on a journey to reach ‘The Everafter’ to meet ‘The Goddess’.
