Rateče border meeting strengthens regional cooperation

The 74th annual meeting of mountaineers took place at the border junction above Rateče, marking a significant gathering of three cultures and nations. Mayors from Kranjska Gora, Trbiž, and Podklošter attended the event, emphasizing strong regional cooperation and friendship.

The gathering featured traditional culinary offerings from Slovenia, Italy, and Austria. Beyond the cultural festivities, the event served as a historical milestone for mountain rescue services. Rescuers from Rateče, Kranjska Gora, Mojstrana, Beljak, and Rablje, alongside an Italian mountain special unit, have formed an informal Alpe Adria association to improve coordination during rescue operations and joint training exercises.
