Ratingen inaugurates new Jubiläumsbrücke bridge
The new Jubiläumsbrücke in Ratingen has been officially inaugurated. The steel structure, which spans the city moat at Turmstraße, was designed by the Brussels-based engineering firm Ney & Partners after winning a design competition.
Mayor Patrick Anders noted that the bridge serves as a lasting memorial to the city’s 750th anniversary. The design features artistic, perforated railings inspired by a fresco by Cologne artist Thomas Heinz, intended to create unique light and shadow patterns depending on the time of day and weather conditions. The bridge has been open to pedestrians since September 4.
