Ratinger Ice Aliens win season opener 4-0 in Dinslaken

The Ratinger Ice Aliens opened their 26/27 season with a 4-0 shutout victory against the Kobras in Dinslaken. Despite being superior throughout the match, Ratingen faced challenges from Kobras goalkeeper Marko Brlic, who kept the score close for much of the game.

Patrik Jääskeläinen broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute. Jääskeläinen and Veeti Koivunen extended the lead to 3-0 in the final period. Captain Toni Lamers secured the win by scoring into an empty net following a late power play opportunity for Dinslaken.

Following the match, Ice Aliens head coach Frank Gentges expressed satisfaction with the win but heavily criticized the officiating. Gentges described the refereeing and timekeeping performance as “indiskutabel” (indisputable/unacceptable), citing numerous errors regarding penalties, icing, and incorrect timekeeping that resulted in the team playing shorthanded for longer than intended.
