Erika Hilton files legal complaint against presenter Ratinho

Brazilian television presenter Ratinho is facing renewed legal and social backlash following controversial comments regarding Federal Deputy Erika Hilton. During an interview on the “Papagaio Falante” podcast, Ratinho questioned Hilton’s identity and her role as president of the Chamber of Deputies’ Committee for the Defense of Women’s Rights, stating that the position should be held by a cisgender woman.

Reports indicate that Ratinho used Hilton’s deadname and male pronouns during the broadcast. In response, Erika Hilton has filed a new representation with the Public Ministry, requesting investigations into transphobia, transphobic injury, and gender-based political violence.

The remarks have sparked significant debate on social media. Influencer Gominho criticized the presenter’s statements as unacceptable, while Milene Pavorô, a long-time assistant on Ratinho’s program, defended him. This incident follows previous legal actions where the judiciary had already ordered Ratinho to provide a right of reply regarding similar statements made earlier this year.
