Ratlam teacher arrested after villagers tie him to tree and beat him
In Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, a guest teacher named Yogendra Jatav was tied to a tree and beaten by villagers following allegations of molesting a minor student. The incident occurred on October 3 in the Tal police station area.
According to the student's family, Jatav lured the minor to a hut in a field where the incident took place. Upon hearing the girl's cries, relatives intervened and apprehended the teacher. A video of the assault, showing the teacher pleading for mercy, has since circulated on social media.
Jatav has denied the allegations, claiming he was merely meeting an acquaintance during his lunch break when he was intercepted and assaulted by unknown individuals.
Local police have registered a case against Jatav under the POCSO Act, and he has been sent to jail. Simultaneously, authorities have filed a case against the villagers involved in the physical assault, stating that no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands.
