Raul Fernandez denies being a 2026 MotoGP title contender

MotoGP rider Raul Fernandez has dismissed claims that he is a championship contender for 2026, despite a recent victory at the Silverstone Grand Prix. The Trackhouse Racing rider, who has secured three consecutive podiums, currently sits sixth in the standings, 56 points behind leader Jorge Martin.

Fernandez emphasized that while he is performing well, he lacks the consistent experience possessed by top rivals such as Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin, and Marco Bezzecchi. He stated that he intends to do his best as long as the mathematical possibility remains, but does not yet feel he has reached the competitive level of a title challenger.

His recent form follows a period of uncertainty regarding his career, and he has since secured a contract with Trackhouse through 2028. As the season moves toward the Aragon Grand Prix, Fernandez remains the primary focus for his team due to teammate Ai Ogura's absence caused by a wrist injury.
