Ravello Festival returns to Villa Rufolo with international orchestra program

The Ravello Festival returns to the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo from August 26 to August 30. The upcoming program features several international orchestras and renowned soloists, with concert start times moved earlier to 19:30 to coincide with the sunset over the Amalfi Coast.

On Wednesday, August 26, the George Enescu Philharmonic, conducted by Robert Treviño, will perform George Enescu’s ‘Rapsodia romena n. 1’ and Sergei Rachmaninov’s ‘Symphony No. 2’. On Thursday, August 27, pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet will perform works by Ravel. The schedule continues on Saturday, August 29, with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester conducted by Philippe Jordan, and concludes on Sunday, August 30, with a grand finale led by John Eliot Gardiner and a choir.
