Raven Johnson apologizes following WNBA media session controversy

Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson has issued an apology following criticism regarding her conduct during a media session. The incident occurred during a playoff series game between the Fever and the Las Vegas Aces.

During the game, Fever forward Myisha Hines-Allen shoved Aces star A’ja Wilson. In a subsequent media session, Johnson participated in a lighthearted exchange with Hines-Allen, who described herself as a “rage baiter” who “lives for chaos.” The interaction drew public backlash for appearing to dismiss the tension involving Wilson.

Johnson later released an online apology, stating she was wrong and expressing respect for Wilson, whom she referred to as a “big sister for life.” Former WNBA star and collegiate coach Dawn Staley defended Johnson, noting her youth and talent while acknowledging the apology.
