Raven-Symoné expresses regret over teenage breast reduction surgeries

Actress Raven-Symoné has expressed regret regarding breast reduction surgeries she underwent as a teenager, stating she was too young at the time of the procedures. Speaking on the ‘Allure Perspectives’ podcast, the 40-year-old actress noted that while the results still look good, the surgeries were ‘hastily done’ and she wished she had been strong enough to say no.

Symoné revealed that the first procedure occurred when she was 15 years old. She mentioned that the decision was influenced by external pressures, including a suggestion that the surgery was necessary to secure acting roles. The surgeries also resulted in physical complications, such as scar tissue and a seizure caused by anesthesia upon waking.

Reflecting on her journey with body image, Symoné shared that her self-confidence has grown significantly. She noted that while she felt only ‘10 percent’ confident during her Disney Channel era, she is now approximately ‘80 percent comfortable in her own skin’.
