Raven-Symoné faces backlash over resurfaced podcast clip

Actress Raven-Symoné is facing social media backlash following the resurfacing of a clip from her podcast, ‘Tea Time with Raven & Miranda’. In the video, guest Kalen Allen asserts that her former Disney Channel character, Raven Baxter, was ‘Black as f***’. Symoné responded by questioning the premise, asking, ‘Was she Black? Why did she feel Black to you? Take away the color. Make them green, and hear the words. What color are they?’

The controversy has intensified with reports that Allen has received death threats following the clip's viral spread. Additionally, former Miss Teen USA contestant Gloria Almonte has shared a claim on social media regarding a 2001 interaction. Almonte alleges that a 15-year-old Symoné told her she did not vote for the winner, Miss Missouri, because she was ‘the Black girl’. Symoné and her wife, Miranda Maday, have not yet addressed the recent viral video.
