Ravenna area sees road and bridge closures for crane installation and safety checks
The local police in Ravenna ordered a two‑day closure of Viale Bigioli on 20‑21 July to allow a crane to be installed on Palazzo Collio. Traffic was banned between civico 57 and the intersection with Via Collio, with detailed diversion routes set for vehicles entering or leaving the historic centre. Parking at a nearby supermarket was limited to loading and unloading operations.
Separately, the mobile bridge over the Candiano Canal was shut from 19:00 to 24:00 for five hours after an anomaly was detected in its transducer. Port Authority technicians inspected the hydraulic system on an elevated platform to verify the sensor’s condition and ensure safe operation. The bridge, opened in 2010, carries about 11 million vehicles annually, and the closure was a precautionary safety measure.
