Ravenna defeats Gubbio 2-0 in Serie C Group B match

Serie C Ravenna vs Gubbio Italian football Gubbio derby Benelli stadium

Ravenna defeated Gubbio 2-0 in a Serie C Group B match at the Benelli stadium. The victory was secured in the first half through a goal by Lorenzo Lonardi following a missed penalty by Gubbio's captain, Esposito, which was saved by goalkeeper Bagnolini. Simone Rabbi doubled the lead with a penalty in stoppage time after a VAR review.

Gubbio manager Domenico Di Carlo attributed the loss to individual errors, specifically the two penalties conceded, and a failure to manage transitions effectively. The team is currently facing an injury crisis and a limited bench, which has impacted their ability to rotate the squad.

Gubbio now prepares for an upcoming derby against Perugia, scheduled for Saturday, October 3.
