Ravenna hosts Italian Youth Single Sailing Championships

The 2026 Kinder Joy of Moving Italian Youth Single Sailing Championships have officially commenced in Ravenna. The event, organized by the Circolo Velico Ravennate and the Adriatico Wind Club with support from the Italian Sailing Federation, began with a large-scale opening ceremony featuring a parade of approximately 500 athletes, coaches, and officials through the historic center of Ravenna.

The competition includes various classes such as Optimist, ILCA 4, ILCA 6, Techno 293, and iQFOiL. Following the opening festivities, the first day of regattas saw favorable weather conditions with winds ranging between 10 and 20 knots. Early results from the Optimist class show Raffaele Nugnes leading the men's division after three races, while Elena Guidi leads the women's division.

The championships are scheduled to run through September 1, featuring daily regattas and events for both sailing and windsurfing categories.
